TENNIS NOTES.

A team from Shannon will play the local club on the home courts on Wednesday, the 14th inst., at 2 p.m. The team will he published later.

At a meeting of the sub-commit-tee held for the purpose of considering names and suitable trophies for which the £2 2s given by Ihe R.S. Ball Committee and Mr R. Bryant was to he spent, it was decided that the tropics take the form of a shield in brooch form, the name of the donor to he engraved on same. The engrtiving on the R.S. trophy will be “S.T.— F.T.C.”, and on Mr Bryant’s trophy, “B.T. F.T.C.” (“S.T.” meaning soldiers’ trophy, and “8.T.” meaning Bryant’s trophy. Misses Austin and Beard agreed-to purchase the trophies.

At a meeting of the sub-commit-tee set up for the purpose of considering the Club’s removal to Easton Park, it was decided that, letters be written to the gun raft tors and trustees of the Club, asking I heir permission to sell the section to wipe off the overdraft, and enable the Club to play on the Park. Of course, the Club’s removal depends on satisfactory arrangements being made with the Beautifying Society, Borough Council, guarantors and trustees.

A deputation consisting of Messrs McMurrny and Bryant was appointed to wait on the Beautifying Society and Borough Council at their next meetings, to discuss the necessary business pertaining to the Club’s removal to Easton Park. Meanwhile it is expected that the secretary will have received replies of a satisfactory nature from the guarantors and trustees.
