ROYAL PICTURES.

“Forest Rivals,” screening at the Royal to-night, is a powerful fivereel picture featuring Dorothy Green and Arthur Ashley. The story is of the Canadian North West, and a vivid description is given of the unrest rained and primitive passions of tin 1 peoples living in the vast open spaces. Dor!by Green .plays the role of Julie Lamont, a little FrencliCanadian girl who lias aroused the passions, firstly of two brothers, Jean and Pierre Dubois, and secondly to Turn King, a young engineer who accidentally meets her in liie woods. King finds that he has to do quite a lot of fighting with his disappointed rivals before he can eventually win possession. Extra: “The Branded Four.”

A four- cornered affair, in which no two of the persons involved are in love with each other, provides the material for “The Vice of Pools,” a Vilagraph picture with Alice Joyce in the stellar role. II will he shown at the Royal to-mor-row night. At every change in the surprising affair of the four, disaster seems to threaten. Only Afarion Rogers retains any degree of judgmenl, the remaining three seek only the fulfilment of I heir own desires. Alice Joyce as Afarion has unusual opportunities for emotional acting.
