TOWN HALL PICTURES.
To-night, at the Town Hall “The Pnrvenue,” or “Profiteer,” will ho the leading screen attraction. The picture is a Nordisk master production, and tells a wonderful story of a profiteer who, when he becomes rich, does not know how to spend his wealth extravagantly enough. The scenery is splendid, the most remarkable being the episode in which the infuriated employees open the lock of a great dam, the water from which dashes down and destroys the factory. The collapse of the structure, and the escape of the profiteer through a window on the roof of the mill as it is being carried away by the flood is thrilling. To-night’s supports are very strong, being headed by Charles Chaplin and Mattel Normand in “The Pile Driver.” The “Moonriders” serial will he continued. Auckland will be viewed from an aeroplane, and the Topical Budget will give us the latest pictorial news. Be early tonight, and see the whole fine programme.
