ARMAGEDDON IN 1934.

BIBLICAL PROPHECIES. AUSTRALIAN M.P’s. REMARKABLE SPEECH. (Correspondent Lyttelton Times.) Sydney, Novemb. 5. Mr Walter Marks,' who served with the auxiliary fleet in British waters throughout the war, and gained a seat in the Commonwealth Parliament at last elections, made a remarkable speech in Parliament during the week in the course of a debate on (he defence vote. Mr Marks urged earnest consideration of the trenrLof world affairs, and reminded members that by a study of the Bible there would be found many phopheoics which were borne out in history.

“Everything that has been and is to happen,” lie said, “is to be found in the Bible if wc look for it. It is clearly indicated that the next war, the Armageddon, will happen in 1934. Three nations will attack the British Empire. Two I will mention, and the other I would rather not. Russia and Germany will combine to attack the British Empire, and the battlefield will, be Jerusalem. The part which the British Navy will play is distinctly mentioned; also the part which Australia will play, although Australia is not mentioned by name because it was not .known at that time. The British Empire is mentioned in the words ‘the merchants of Tarshish and their little lions.’ The little lions are the colonies of the British Empire. The British naval • base —Cyprus —is mentioned, and this is but a stone’s throw from our present base at Malta. This marks Christ’s return. When Christ reappears he will reappear on the spot where He left us in the robe of a beggar!” Dir Marks interpreted the termination of Turkish wile in Palestine, the prevailing unrest in Ireland, Egypt, and India, and the downfall of the Emperor of Germany and of the Czar of Russia as fulfilment of Biblical prophecy. According to the Bible, he said, on Christ’s return, certain Kings had to go on their bended knees and hand up their crowns. The King of England was specifically mentioned as coming in bis ship and offering his crown to Christ. The other kings did not do so voluntarily, and were compelled. Among the seven enumerated conditions was the return of the Jews to Palestine. Thousands of Jews had already flocked back, and were living there 10-day under a British-Jewish governor, setting up a, great kingdom for Christ’s return. The final scene in the setting was that, in which Christ directed the British ships to proreed to all the ends of the world to collect his chosen people, and bring them to Palestine, where they would become the greatest nation the world had ever known.

The general opinion that the next war will be in the Pacific was declared by DU Marks to be at variance with the prophecy of the Bible, which clearly defined that it would be in I lie Dlediterrnnean. The Japanese would not invade Australia. They and the Chinese would go with Christ to Palestine.
