CHALLENGE BY PADDON,

Mr George Seifert, of Hamilton, this morning lodged a deposit of £IOO with Mr A. E. Manning, managing director of the Waikato Times, on behalf of James Paddon, of New South Wales, to row the winner of the Arnst-Hadfield sculling race for £SOO a-side and the championship of the world.
