NEW APPOINTMENTS MADE
The largest change of staff officers of the Salvation Army which has ever occuiTed in the Dominion will take place at the end of next month, the following new appointments will, be given effect to: —Brigadier Toomer (Palmerston North) to Field Secretary, National Headquarters, Wellington; Major Haines (Palmerston North) to be Commander, Dunedin Division; Major (Padre) Macaulay (Palmerston North) to the managership of Rotoroa Island Home for Inebriates. These officers will be succeeded in Palmerston North by Brigadier Newbury, Auckland; StaffCaptain Miles, London; and Commandant Holmes. Major Gunn and Staff-Captains Bear and Powick have been appointed to the Auckland Division, while Major (Padi'e) Walls will assist Lieutenant-Colonel Carmichael at Christchurch. Major Wallace has been appointed commander of the new Taranaki division, with headquarters at Wanganui, and Major (Padre) Burton will take the oversight of the Wellington Division. Staff-Captain (Padre) Bln din will have charge of the young people’s work in the .Wellington Division, and will be assisted by Adjutant (Padre) Garner.
