Timaru, October 29

James R. Hayne, chemist, Dunedin, was charged at the Alagistrate’s Court with unlawfully using an instrument on Violet Ada Atkins, a married woman, living apart from her husband, with intent to procure a miscrariage. The woman’s evidence was taken in the hospital last night. After being warned, witness made a full statement, going into details.

Accused was remanded to appear at Dunedin on Saturday next. Application for bail was refused.
