LONDON WOOL SALES
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 12th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:
Wool sales commenced yester-
day with catalogue of 11,0(55 bales 8.A.W.R.A., including New Zealand crossbred greasy 2,000, scoured 850, slipe 1,050 bales. Large attendance, and competition animated from all sections, offerings practically all cleared. New Zealand greasy met good demand from Home trade. Compared with closing rates last London series, scoured and greasy merinos advanced on average 10 per cent., greasy crossbreds 5 to 10 per cent., fine occasionally little more, scoured about 10 per cent., slipe unchanged. This week’s offerings B.A.W.R.A. comprise:—Australian: Merino, greasy, 5,040 bales; scoured, 2,150 bales; crossbred: greasy, 3,800 bales; scoured, 1,100 bales. New Zealand: Crossbred, greasy, 4,450 bales, scoured 1,590 bales, slipe 1,700 bales.
