THE GREAT McEWEN.

A CLEAN, CLEVER AND MYSTIFYING ENTERTAINMENT.

The boisterous weather last night prevented a number of people from attending the above entertainment. Those present, however, were well repaid, and spent a most enjoyable time, and their appreciation was most marked. There is no need to enlarge upon MeEwen’s ability to mystify his audience by his numerous tricks, which he performs Avith refreshing naturalness, and at the same time converses with his audience ,as if entertaining a company of old friends. There is an entire absence of cheap and vulgar wittiThe performance throughout is versatile, clean, and wholesome. The thought-reading tests aijd other feats in telepathy were very interesting. The box mystery, from which a young woman makes her escape, despite strappings, is very mystifying. The elocutionary items by Miss Hebe Saint were if a very high order. The entertainment concluded with an exposition of hypnotism, which fairly convulsed the audience.

A change of programme will be submitted to-night. We thoroughly recommend the entertainment to the public, which is one of the best.
