PREMIER REBUKES FARMERS

The Prime Minister gave a spirited reply at Wellington on Tuesday to a farmers’ deputation Avhich made complaints of the state of the country. He stated that the Government had effected economies to the extend of a million and a-half; and that proposals for saving a further two millions had been made. The Government Avould continue till it reduced expenditure to the same extent as revenue and could reduce taxation. He appealed to the farmers not to continue their pessimistic tone.
