IMPORTS AND EXPORTS
THE total value of exports of produce from the Dominion for the twelve months ended August 3.lst, as reported by the Government; Statistician, was £48,081,7(13, or £2,I!Ui,00() better than for the corresponding twelve months of 19191020. The value of exports of New Zealand produce for the eight months ended August 31st last was £33,048,128, or £3,380,000 belter than for the eight months ended August 81st, 1020. The relation between all exports and all imports for the twelve months ended August 3.lst, is as follows; —Exports, £50,038,008; imports, £08,7(1(1,210. There is still an excess olj imports over the whole twelve months, and it amounts to £8,717,000. Imports are, however, rapidly diminishing, as the follow-' ing comparison shows: —1020 (eight months), £35,0.10,318; (August only), £0,107,040; 1921 (eight months), £32,070,700; (August only), £2,023,087. For the month of August only, imports are under £IOO,OOO in excess of exports. The export season is now opening, with the despatch of dairy produce.
