PATRIOTIC SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the local Patriotic Society Committee was held on Thursday night. Present: The Mayor (Mr John Chryslnll) and Messrs Hornblow, Thomson, Huntley, McMurray, Mrs McMurray, Miss Sewell, and the secretary (Mr Trueman). The secretary explained that during the month relief had been given to an applicant from Shannon. It was decided to refer this case, and a further one, to the Palmerston Society, in order to establish the residential qualifications prior to enlistment. Other minor matters were discussed and dealt with.
