TENNIS

The annual general meeting of the Foxton Lawn Tennis Club was held in All Saints’ Schoolroom on Tuesday evening. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. The officers elected for the ensuing yea re arc: — Patron, E. Robinson, Esq.; President, J. K. Hornblow, Esq.; Vicepresidents, Messrs F. S. Easton, A. Fraser, W r . E. Barber, A. Ross, .J. Chryslall; secretary, Mr R. Shaw; treasurer, Mr A. Brophy; committee, Misses Beard, McCormick, P. McMurray, D. ITawkc, 11. Mucky, Messrs S. J. McDonnell, M. Mandl, C. Bryant, E. J. Jackson, M. Robinson.

It was decided that (lie opening day bo held on Saturday, Bth-Octo-ber.

A “working bee’ will he held on the courts on Saturday, Ist October, when all members who can are requested to roll up and give a hand.

The following new members were proposed and elected‘.Misses Beard and Woodruffe, Messrs McDonell and Brophy. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs Mandl, Shaw, Brophy and McDonnell were appointed to proceed to the courts to consider improvements needed.
