TOWN HALL PICTURES

All Bert Lytell’s Metro pictures have all been good, and to-night’s seven-reel feature, “The Price of Redemption,” is undoubtedly the finest of all. Adapted from A. R. Wylie’s novel, “The Temple of Daion,” “The Price of Redemption” for Leigh Dering becomes a bitter one to pay while he is yet a young man. Daring hero in saving a British garrison in India, he becomes a society lion in London, and marries .Jean. Dering becomes a victim of drink. Returning home one night from a convivial club, he finds the body of his wife’s father, and Catches the murderer, a girl, Anna Steel, one of the many mined by the mrechant, Dering is accused by his wife of the murder, and he disappears. Five years later we find him in India, a victim of drink and drugs. His wife, re-married, visits India, and in some sensational scenes in the British fort, Dering proves himself a. hero, and is redeemed by his wife. The scenes in India and London are masterpieces of the screen art, and Bert Lytell’s acting is wonderful. Leefia Owen and Cleo Madison are in support. Supporting pictures: Moon riders (serial), Bear Escape (comedy), and English Gazette. Appropriate music will be rendered by Mr Thornbur. Prices as usual, Od and Is Id, children 3.
