JULY WORKING
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of July was 553,800 ft., which, with the amount in the holder on July Ist, 17,000 ft., made a total of 570,800 ft. The amount of gas sold to consumers for lighting was 205,600ft.,-for cooking and -heating 172,800 ft., for power 81,100 ft,, 28,000 ft. were used in street lamps, 26,500 at the works and manager’s house, and there was 17,000 ft, in the holder on Ist Auguse, leaving 39,800 ft., representing 7 per cent., unaccounted for. Fiftyone tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,858 c. ft, per ton. The earnings for the month totalled £398 Is lid, and were made up as follows: —Gas sales, lighting £126 14s, heat and power £l4l 2s 6d, coke sales £45 3s 9d, tar sales £4B 18s, fitting account £l6 2s lOd, services £6 7s lOd, labour services £4 12s 6d, labour fittings 16s 6d, miscellaneous £8 Is, disinfectant 3s, a total of £398 Is lid.
The expenditure for the month totalled £344 2s 2d, made up as follows: Coal used £l2l 17s 7d, wages, salaries and labour £72 9s, pipes services 11s 6d, pipes mains 10s 6d, fittings £l4 14s Id, meter repairs £24 6s lOd, tools 10s 3d, plant £3 4s Sd, retorts £l9 9s, fencing £ll 18s Id, working expenses £4 4s Bd, printing and advertising £5, house £5, freight, wharfage and cartage 14s Id, interest and sinking fund £59 11s Bd, a total of £344 2s 2d.
