STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

MEN INJURED; COWS KILLED,

A few nights ago a severe thunderstorm, accompanied by vivid flashes of lightning, prevailed along the West Coast, and it transpires that in the Hawera district two farm labourers had a terrifying experience. They were sleeping in a building owned by Mr H. S. Lewis, and used as a cowshed and as sleeping apartments for the men. Four cows were in the shed at Ihe lime. A flash of lightning struck (lie electric light wires, and was conducted through the building, knocking the cattle down and rendering the men, Messrs Butt and Greenbanks, insensible. Both men sustained severe shock. Two of the cows were killed.
