MEN INJURED; COWS KILLED,
A few nights ago a severe thunderstorm, accompanied by vivid flashes of lightning, prevailed along the West Coast, and it transpires that in the Hawera district two farm labourers had a terrifying experience. They were sleeping in a building owned by Mr H. S. Lewis, and used as a cowshed and as sleeping apartments for the men. Four cows were in the shed at Ihe lime. A flash of lightning struck (lie electric light wires, and was conducted through the building, knocking the cattle down and rendering the men, Messrs Butt and Greenbanks, insensible.
