FOOTBALL.
The Springboks defeated Bay of Plenty yesterday by 17 points to 9.
Last night members of the senior football team were entertained at dinner by Mr and Mrs George Small. After the wants of the inner man had been satisfied, a number of musical and vocal items were rendered, and altogether a very enjoyable time was spent. Before tho gathering dispersed, Mr and Mrs Small’s health was drunk and the thanks of the Club conveyed to them for their kindness and the inn-rest they had always taken in the game.
The following will represent the Foxton Fourths, to play High School at Foxton on Saturday:— Backs: .H. Huff, T. Procter, W. Hynes, E. Robinson, Perreau, Huff, Walls; forwards: H. Puller, Stubbings, Parkin, Burr, Cunningham, Nelson, Stevenson, Healey. Emergencies: Grammar, Williams, Ball.
The team is requested to meet Mr F. Robinson’s to-morrow nighty!* at 7.30.
