London, Aug. 16.

Peter I„ formerly King of Serbia, and later King of Jugo-Slavia, is dead.

[King Peter I. of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (Jugo-Slavia) succeeded to the I krone of Serbia on the murder of King Alexander I. on 11th June, 1003, and on the singning of the Peace Treaty became the King of the enlarged Kingdom of Jugo-Sla-via. He was 77 years of age. The heir to the throne is his younger son, Prince Alexander, who was born in 1888, the older son, Prince George, having voluntarily renounced his rights to the succession in 1909.]
