“IHAKARA GARDEN.”

A correspondent writes, suggesting that, the “old cemetery” be mimed “Jhakara Garden,” for the reasons that it would perpetuate the name of a public benefactor, a chief of the Ngatirauka wa, tribe, whose remajns are buried in the ground, and who gave other valuable sites to the Government, including the land whereon the school is situated, also „ the Court House site, Target Reserve and Racecourse Reserve. Our correspondent further adds that the Maoris took a very active part in raising portion of the funds for beautifying the reserve.
