That is one reason people do not go to church as they did. I mii'f mention the habit of reading newspapers. The average man spends an hour a day reading ephemeral trash, which cannot be of any good at all. Of newspapers, then, the less the belter. The highest compliment one can pay to a book is to shut it up and think about it. The habit of making notes and writing abstracts from books is useful. Reading is a virtue which might become a vice if followed in an incorrect manner. People should read slowly, make notes, and read only those matter' which are found realIv interesting.”
