The Levin Chronicle says: —“The use of offensive language between opposing players is not prevalent in this Union, but at least two instances occurred in the Wanderers-Fox-ton match on Saturday of a particularly insulting nature towards a member of the Wanderers team. It is a pity (bat the offenders cannot always be detected by the referee, and dealt with accordingly.” We have made inquiries from spectators present at the match, and cannot gel any evidence to justify the above accusation. The game appears to have been played in a good spirit by both teams.
