old MAN KILLED NEAR AUCKLAND. Auckland, July 15. Henry Egerton Martin, a married man, 03 years of age, and an old resident of' Wnikumete, was killed while alighting from a train at that station. Apparently he mistook tho slnli'in, remaining on the train until it wns starting, and in attempting I" alight slipped between the phittbnn and the carriage. He wa> dragged about a carriage length, and death was instantaneous, the body being terribly mutilated.
