The half-year ended 301 li Juno was a prosperous one for the Harbour Board. The number of ships trading to the port largely increased, particularly coasters, in which the increase was 338. The total increase in the number of ships was 35. The 'increase in the tonnage was 114,079. Revenue for the halfyear was £12,887, and expenditure £11,113, the net increase being £728. The value of the exports from the district for the first five months this year was £2,031,789.
