The Carpentier-Dempsey fight for the heavyweight boxing championship takes place at Jersey City today.

New York, June 29. „

The United States Government) will probably collect a million dollar's taxes in connection with the fight on Saturday. Dempsey, out df his 300,000 dollars, will pay 103,990 dollars, Carpentier, out of his 200,000 dollars,, will pay 93,350 dollars, an'd Rickard, out of his 300,000 dollars, will pay 163,990 dollars. The indirect earnings—profits on railway transportation, taxes, etc. —will total nearly half a million dollars.
