Sir. —I notice that C'r. Martin, in referring to gasworks matters at 'Monday night’s Council meeting, said that with regard to Whittaker Street main, the trench had not been properly filled in. In fairness to the Gas Manager and his assistant, I would like to point out that this work was doue “well and true,” but the condition in which it is now found is from circumstances outside their control. —-Yours, etc., CONSUMER.
