It is a story of the North woods,, teeming with heart interest, romance, and stirring adventure. As an extra, “The Silent Avenger will be shown. Humanness and virility, the dominant qualities of all Mitchell Lewis’ pictures, were never so pronounced as in this star’s newest and biggest screen offering,’ “King Spruce,” the vivid picturisation of Holman Day’s novel of the Maine forests, to be screened on Friday and Saturday matinee. A story every lover of the great outdoors would wish to see vitalised on tho screen, “King Spruce” is remarkable for its pictoi'ial appeal, its faithful characterisations, and for a new standard of direction. Portrayals only scarcely less powerful than the star's are exacted from the notable aggregation of screen and stage favourites supporting Mitchell Lewis in “King Spruce,” Mignon Anderson, a leading woman of repute and beauty who is pi’esented i. 4 a double role, Melbourne MacDowell and Arthur Millette.
