This statement was made by a well-known financial man after a study of the prospectus of the issue of 7A per cent. Mortgage Debentures issued by the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat Co., Ltd. Not only is the interest high, but the currency of the debentures is ten years, and the security is such as to satisfy the .most timid investor. The £300,000 issue is secured by first mortgage of properties and plant ‘conservatively valued at £615,263, The tnistee for the de-benture-holders is the N.Z. Insurance Co., Ltd., Auckland. The Gisborne Sheepfamers’ Frozen Meat and Mercantile Co., Ltd., is the pioneer farmers’ company in Poverty Bay, having been established 19 years ago. Its subscribed capital is £637,137, and paid-up capital £395,751 10s. The shareholders number 1,600.
