At last night’s Council meeting, the Mayor and Cr. Bryant were authorised to purchase a horse for the sanitation work. -
The new post and telephone oifiee building at Rangiotu was officially opened .by Mr E. Newman, M.P., at 1.30 o’clock yesterday. At the Palmerston S.M. Court yesterday, Leonard Harris, of Poxton, pleaded guilty to. a charge of committing a breach of the Sale of Arms Act, in that he transferred a sporting rifle to Edward James Roake; of New Plymouth, without previously having received a permit to do so, as required by the Act, and was fined 10s, with .costs vs. Edward James Roake, who did not appear, was fined 10s, costs 7s, for receiving the same rifle without conforming to the requirements of the Act.
