THE Borough Council bus widely decided lo meet twice u month for ordinary business in future, instead of monthly. • This, owing to increased attention required in connection with the carrying out of the water and drainage scheme, which the Council is noxious to complete with the least possible delay. Last night’s business continued well on to midnight, and it was manifest that Councillors, wjiile anxious to discharge their duly faithfully, were getting restless. « With two ordinary meetings per month, and the proviso that no new business be taken after 10 p.m„ Councillors will be in closer touch with committee recommendations and general- administration. Apart from this, in a short time attention will have to be given to the hydro-electric reticulation, and it is hoped ere this that the water and drainage scheme will he consummated. The work of the Council has doubled during the past year, thereby increasing tlm duties and responsibilities of the city fathers, The meetings will he hold in future on the second and fourth Mondays in the month.
