ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Auckland, Yesterday,
A railway engine passing over a turn-table ran into a pit and fell on its side. Geogr Percy Wallace, driver, a married man, was severely scalded, and died this morning. The fireman, W. C. M’Millan, escaped injury. Eastings,' Ycs t erda y. Mrs Thomas Styles, wife of an ex-Deputy Mayor, died suddenly during the night. She complained of illness after retiring, and her husband attended to her. Waking at 6 a.m., he found his wife lying dead alongside him. Auckland, May 29th.
A man, about 60, mediumly well dressed, but who has not yet been identified, was run over by a motor lorry on Saturday afternoon. He died at the hospital ninety minutes later.
