HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
A meeting was held in Levin on Thursday. Mr J. W. Procter presided. and Messrs F. Whibley, R. Ford and W. Wchipohnna were present.
Melville and Lester, of the Wanderers’ Clul), were re-instated as juniors.
The Taranaki Union wrote stat--ing that the ITorowlienua Union’s suggestion for a match when the Taranaki team was on its way to Wellington would he considered when the tour was being arranged. —Received. *
The Koputaroa Club informed the Union that it wished to withdraw from the junior competition, and asked permission to enter a thirdgrade team.
Tl was decided to allow a thirdgrade team I" p'ny in (he competition for Unit grade, but that no junior men he eligible to play as thirds. The Werarua Club wrote, asking for the reinstatement of D. Cole, F. Bartholomew and C. LoMer as juniors. On the 1110! ion of Mr Whib-h-y, il was decided that the reinstatement of Cole and Bartholomew be refused. The Manawatu Union wrote in reply to {lie proposal to play interUnion fixtures for the Bebbington Cup, that they would have pleasure in entering such a competition, provided the rep. match on June 18th was considered as a cup fixture.— Received.
The Chairman reported that he had interviewed Mr Marlin. Winiata re acting as one of the Ilorowhenua rop_. selectors, bi t he would’not accept the position. The filling of the vacancy was deferred till next meeting. On the motion of the chairman, it was resolved that Mill matches he postponed 011 Saturday, June 4th. '
