Christchurch, Last Night

The body of Ida Jewell, aged 33 years, was found floating in the surf at New Brighton to-day. She had been suffering from nervous trouble.

KILLED BY TRAIN

Dunedin, Last Night

Alfred W. J. Maitland, a young married man, and a returned soldier. was run over by the train between Caversham and Dunedin tonight, and killed, the body being fearfully mangled. He was not seen by the enginemen, and it i> not known how he got on to the line.
