SCULLING.
James Paddon, the Australian sculling champion, says that he has no plans for the future (states the Casino correspondent of the Sydney Sun). He will wait for a challenger lo come along. There is only one man whom he is anxious to meet, and that- is Arnst. “I don’t know why,” said Paddon, “but I have tried my best to get a match with Arnst, but for some reason or other he won’t come up to the scratch. lie is as slippery as* an eel.” Notwithstanding -Paddon’s statement that he had a hard race against M’Devitt- on. Saturday, good judges who saw the race hold the view that Paddon had plenty to spare, and was capable of a much greater effort had he been askod for it.
