THREE MEN DROWNED.

Gisborne, Mav 20.

During the progress of the salvage operations of the schooner Huaniti, stranded on the Wnikanae beach this morning, a boat capsized in the surf. Another boat put off to its assistance, and it also capsized and three men were drowned. Their names are: —Capt. Charles Anderson, master of the Huanui, married, whose wife resides at Parhell, and who has four children; Capt. Adolphus Martin, of Gisborne. married, and with a family; James Hodfield, waterside worker, married, of Gisborne.
