ROYAL PICTURES.
An exceptionally attractive programme is provided at the Royal tonight in the shape of the English production, “A Great Coup,” one of the finest of racing stories from the pen of that great sporting Nat Gould. The leading role is 1; xen by one of England’s most prominent stars, Poppy, (the Hon. Mrs Dennis) Wyndham, not only a talented actress and a society belle, but also a wonderful rider. The picture is most painstakingly produced in realistic manner. In addition to a further episode of the now very popular serial, “The Lost City,” there will be a Larry Semon com-edy—-and you know what that means! The prices will be as usual, Is Id and fid.
Monday night’s programme contains two star features, The first is AVilliam Russell in a new Western role, “Eastward IIo!” a picturisation of the stirring novel by William M. Raine. The now popular star. Shirley Mason, will also be seen in “Merely Mary Ann,” an amusing picture. The role of the young “slavey” in the London boarding house is admirably suited to Miss Mason’s dainty quaintness. The play owed its success on the stage to its delightful blending of humour and pathos, and the force of every situation is intensified in the film version.
