The Foxton Auctioneering Conn pany report that at Saturday's sale the prices of fruit, onions, potatoes and produce was on the same levef as the previous week. Entries for next Saturday’s sale are solicited, and particulars of same should ho forwarded to the auctioneers by 10 o'clock on Thursday morning, so that same can be advertised.
LONDON WOOL SALES
The Department of Agriculture has z-eceived the following cablegram, dated 4th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Wool sales commenced yesterday, with offering 100,055 hales fi'ec wool, of which GB2 bales were New Zealand, balance principally Australian. Large attendance of buyers, and ,with good competition from Home and Continent, bulk offering sold. Compared with closing rates hist series, merinos 5 per cent, dearer on average (quotation last series 60-64’s Is to Is 2d per lb). Fine crossbreds slightly dearer, others unchanged. B.A.W.R.A. sales to-day and to-morrow. Limit in accordance with Melbourne resolution not having been fixed in time for present series." it lias been decided to offer 8.A.1\.R.A. wool at limit approximately equal to closing prices of April series. (Closing prices April series were: —60-G4’s (mei’ino) ,1s to Is 2d per lb.; 56’s (super half-bred), 11 &d to Is Id; 50's (half-bred), 9|d to lid; 48’s (fiine crossbreds), 8d to lOd); 444G’s (medium crossbreds), 6LI to SJd; 36-40’s (coarse crossbreds), sc! to Gld.
