AN ENDURANCE TEST.

CONTINUOUS PIANO PLAYING

NEW WORLD’S RECORD ATTEMPTED.

Mr Albert Steele commenced at the Town Hall this morning in an attempt to break the world’s record for continuous piano playing. At present the record is held by Eugene Derebtler, a Frenchman, who played for 113 hours. A local committee has been appointed to see that all the conditions are fulfilled, and punctually at 6.50 a.m. Mr Steele commenced his long task. The piano has been placed in position so that it will be in full view of the audiences which will assemble durin"* the test, which will have to continue until midnight on Saturday if Mr Steele is to meet with success.

It would almost seem impossible for anyone to successfully undergo such a test of endurance, but Mr Steele is very optimistic, and feels that* lie will achieve his ambition. The theatre will be open to the public day and night.
