ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Dauncvirke, Yesterday. A fatality occurred early this morning at a fire in a four-roomer house in Tennyson Street, the violin being Mrs D. D. Stevenson, aged 73. v> ell- It ,\vn in Mastorfon. She had been living alone in the building, n portion of which was destroyed, Death was apparently due to suffocation. Deceased’s relatives, il any, are not known. Hamilton, Yesterday, While two girls were doublehanking on a bicycle on the wrong side of the road, they ran into a car. One girl was thrown clear, the other, Rita Williams, aged twelve, sustained a fractured skull. Her condition is critical.
Stella Hobson, aged twelve, came into contact with milking machinery on a farm at Kaipaki, and was seriously injured. There is little hope of her recoverv.
