SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTION.
The annual meetings of householders in the Wanganui Education Board’s district were held 'on Mon-day-night. The meetings throughout were better attended than for many years' past, evidencing a keener interest in matters educational on the part of the public. Many protests were made against holding the meetings on Anzac Day, and this will be remedied in future. The following are the committees elected: —

Longburn.- —Messrs C. Palmer (chairman), J. Barr (secretary), D. Prouse, R. Tanner, W. Campbell, 0. Olsen and J. Nuttall. A motion was passed expressing indignation at the delay of the Education Board in rebuilding the school, and entering an emphatic protest against work of such importance being further held up.
