FOOTBALL

Local players indulged in a practice game on Easton Park on Saturday afternoon. There was a good muster of all grades of players, and the indications point to a very successful season. The senior team should he a fairly strong combination, as in addition to a number of last year's juniors, it will includ# several players who last year played under the Mnnnwatu Union. The juniors will also put in a strong fifteen.

The Chip matches commence next Saturday, and two games will be played on the local grounds. I’he seniors will play Levin Wanderers, and the juniors will be opposed bv the Shannon fifteen.

A meeting of delegates to the llorowhenua Rugby Union will be held at Levin on Thursday evening, at 8 o’clock, to consider and adopt a new set of rules and regulations for the Union.
