WEDDING.
DIMANT—FRY. The marriage of Miss Frances Ivy, second daughter of Mr Chas. Fry, of Riwaka (Nelson) to Mr H; Dimant, fourth son of the late Alexander Dimant, took place at the Presbyterian Church, Riwaka, on Tuesday, the 12th inst. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harvey, assisted by the Rev. Richards, late of Picfon. The bride’s dress was of white crepe-de-chene, exquisitely worked in white silk. The bridesmaid, Miss Pearl Fry (a cousin of the bride), wore a dress of white silk. The best man was Mr Roy Fry, also a cousin of the bride. The church was. beautifully decorated by the girl friends of the bride, the principal ornamentation being a beautiful bell composed of white roses and chrysanthemums. Mrs Harry Fry presided at the organ and played the Wedding March on the entrance of the bride, who was accompanied by her father. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, when appropriate toasts were proposed and duly honoured. The bride’s travelling dress was a grey tailored tweed, with black hat heliotrope trimmed. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold pendant set with rubies, and to the bridesmaid a gold wishbone brooch set with rubies and pearls. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold-mounted fountain pen. The happy couple are spending their honeymoon in the North Island.
BREWER —HART. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the local Methodist Church yesterday afternoon, by the Rev. W. Rowe (late of Foxton, and now of Lower ITuti), when Charles Theodore, eldest son of Mr and Airs Thos. Brewer, of Foxton, was united to Clara Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. 11. Hart, of Foxton. The interior of the Church was prettily decorated by lady friends of the bride, a special feature being a large floral bell, beneath which the ceremony was performed. The ceremony was witnessed by a large congregation. Miss Evans officiated at the organ. " The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a lmndemhroidered erepe-de-ehene dress,
and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bridal bouquet of while cosmos, dahlias and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Ivy. as bridesmaid, who was attired in pink erepe-de-ehene, black georgette hat, and carried a bouquet of pink cosmos and asparagus fern, and wore a gold bracelet, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Arthur Brewer (brother of the bridegroom) officiated as best niaii. After the ceremony relatives and guests partook of the wedding breakfast at Mrs Walls’ rooms. The table decorations were very artistic, and reflected great credit upon the caterers. The usual loyal and other toasts were honoured, and felicitous speeches made. The Rev. Air Rowe, in proposing the least of the happy couple, made special reference to the bridegroom's war service, and “scars of glory." At the conclusion of tin 1 breakfast all united in singing “God be With You."
The presents were numerous, and included a number of substantial cheques. The bride’s going-away dress was a costume of fawn gaberdine, and sax blue hat, The happy couple Jell by motor for the h on their honeymoon, and upon their return will take up llieir residence in Palmerston N. The “Herald" joins with Mr and Mrs Brewer’s many friends in wishing 1 hem health and happiness,
