SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the local Slate School Committee was held last night. Present: Messrs Ilornblow (chairman), Claris (secretary), Alexander, G. Coley, Perreau, -Ino. Russ, P. Robinson, A. Steven son, and the head teacher, Mr L. -J. Fume.
Jt was decided to record on the minutes an appreciation of the faithful services of the lute first assistant, Mr IT. F. Gahitcs, and to convey same to him by letter, also to Miss V. Ray, late fourth assist-
Mr McKnighl tendered his resignation as janitor. Appreciative reference was made to the excellent manner in which Mrs McKnight had discharged her duties. Jt was decided to invite applications for the position, and the Chairman and Head Teacher were appointed to draw up schedule of duties in connection with same. The appointment of Miss Beard as fourth assistant was endorsed. A vote of thanks was passed to the Borough*Council for completing path leading to the main entrance of school. The Secretary’s resignation was received with regret. Several accounts were passed for payment, and a vote of thanks passed to Mr Just for donation of bulbs. The head teacher’s report was read and adopted.
