Further entries are solicited. The sale commences at 2 o’clock sharp. The live stock can be inspected on Saturday morning. At the conclusion of the Masonic Lodge ceremony on Tuesday night, the brethren presented Biu H, J. Claris, S.D., with a ease of pipes as a token of esteem. The presentation was made by the WM., AA’or. Bro. \V. Renton, and complimentary references were made to the sterling qualities of the departing brother by several members who wished him success ill the Empire City, whither he has been transferred from the local branch of Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd. The recipient suitably responded. A company of Palmerston amateurs gave a musical revue entitled “The Girl Behind the Powder,” to a fair audience, in the Town Hall on Saturday night. A full orchestra played a number of spirited selections, and accompanied the various vocal items. An extra musical attraction was provided by performers on ihe ukclelc, a sweet-toned Hawaiian native instrument. The stage setting and decorations were very good, and the dresses of the charming young ladies taking part were magnilieent. The singing and dancing on the whole was much appreciated. The departure of the Rev. A. and Mrs Ilarding, who have been in charge of the Foxton Methodist circuit for the past four years, will he regretted by residents outside of the Methodist body. Mr Harding look a keen interest in the technical woodwork class, and officiated as super-, sor and instructor to the senior pupils. He was nu enthusiastic member of the local Horticultural Society, and successful exhibitor at the Shows. Ho did not allow these public affairs to stand in the way of the faithful discharge of his pastoral work and duties connected with a wide parish. Together with Mrs Harding he rendered good service during the influenza epidemic. In fact, the skilled assistance rendered during ilie trying period by Mrs Harding was beyond all praise. Apart from visiting his own Hock, -Mr Harding was ever ready to visit and assist the sick and distressed in the community, independent of creed and without ostentation.- In common with the Foxton public we regret Mr and Mrs Harding's departure from Foxton, and wish them happiness in their new field of labour.
