ROYAL PICTURES
“The Four Flusher,” a new Metro production, which will be shown at the Royal to-night, with the increasingly popular Hale Hamilton in the stellar role, furnishes a delightfully new and diverting entertainment in Ihe pictorial drama. There is not a dull moment in his comedy-drama. And comedy-drama it is, of a human kind which finds a genuine appeal from the youngest in the audience to the oldest. Mr Hamilton plays the role of Lon Withers, a young New York clerk, who picks up a live tip from a friend and makes a fortune out of it by putting on “ a big front,” is an enjoyable character, pictured true to life to the last' detail, and is reminiscent of this same star’s sensational stage success, “Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford,” in which he portrayed a financial genius. As an extra, another episode of “The Vanishing Dagger” will be shown.' Friday’s programme will include Margarita Fischer in a romance of a sideshow dancer, “Molly of the Follies.” Molly is a dancer in a Coney Island show. Her mother is a fortune-teller with the same show, and both are interested in Joe Holmquist, “the Human Submarine.” Molly loves Joe, but when she secs him in her mother’s arms she refuses to accept any explanation, and elopes with Chauncey Ewing, a young society man, who takes her to his aunt’s home, promising that they will gel a license and a minister in the morning. She will sleep in the house, deserted by the family for the summer, and he will sleep in the garage. Joe comes to dissuade her, but she helps Chauncey throw him out. During the night she catches a burglar, but it turns out to be the real Chauncey Ewing, while her admirer proves to be his chauffeur, and Molly, cured of social ambitions, gladly turns to Joe.
