WEDDING BELLS
ROBINSON—HEALEY. A pretty wedding which created much local interest was celebrated in All Saints’ Church at mid-day today, by the vicar, Rev. \Y. Walton, when Cecil Charles, eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. E. Robinson, Lady’s Mile, was united to Miss Tlnuy.a Margaret Healey, daughter of Mrs Healey, Beach Road, Foxton. The church was filled with relatives and friends of the popular young couple. The bride, who was given awny by her brother, Mr David Healey, of Tiakitalmua, looked charming in a fawn costume, blue toque, gray suede slices, and carried a magnificent bridal bouquet of cream and wauvejlowcrs. The bride was accompanied by Miss Lorna Woodrool’c as chief bridesmaid, attired in a grey costume and shoes, black hat, and carried a lemon-coloured bouquet; Miss Alice Ilcalcy, sister of the bride, grey dress, black picture hat relieved with shell pink, black shoes, and carried a pink bouquet. The bridegroom was accompanied by Mr Ilcrston Robinson (brother) as best man, and Mr Vern Robinson (cousin) as groomsman. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a pearl necklace, and to the bridesmaids aequamarine brooches. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a set of gold slcevelinks. After the ceremony breakfast' was partaken of at the residence of Mr and Mrs Woodroofc, Clyde Street, when the usual felicitous speeches were made and toasts honoured. The many handsome and valuable presents (including substantial cheques) testified to the popularity of the happy pair. “The Herald” joins in wishing Mr and Mrs Robinson long life and happiness. The bride and bridegroom left by motor on their honeymoon, and on their return will take up their residence in Foxton. Special mention must he made of the artistic breakfast table decorations, at the head of which was a massive and emblematically decorated three-tier wedding cake (the gift of Mr and Mrs J. Walls),
GILES—Mc3JLUKKAY. At the Presbyterian Church this afternoon a very pretty wedding was celebrated by the Rev. Tho.s. Hallidav, when 31r J. I?. Giles, >Oll of Titos. Giles, Esq., settler, of Mnkowhai, was united to Miss Jessie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs K. 3ic3lurray, of Foxton, A full report will appear in our next issue.
