LONDON MARKET. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 2nd instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Meat—Market still over -applied with frozen beef, but with removal of control lamb prices have advanced. Official quotations: Average prices are New Zealand mutton, light weight, 8:1 d, heavy weight Bjd per 11)., ewes 7-id, per lb. New Zealand lamb from U.S.A., and also free lamb direct. Is to Is 2d per lb. Australian lamb, new season, Is per lb., but sale has been made at 9Ad per lb. for New Zealand light weight mutton, and as much as Is 3d per lb. for Australian new season lamb. Argentine chilled beef, hinds Is to Is 2d, fores 7:]d per lb.; New Zealand ox beef, average prices are hinds 7d, fores 5d per lb., but sale has been made up to 9Ad and 6Ad per lb, for best quality. No new season N.Z. lamb on market, but expected next week. Nominated Agent has agreed to sell surplus Government N.Z. meat at the following prices ex stores, including 14s days’ storage: Wethers BAd, ewes 7Ad per lb. Cut lamb Is per lb., uncut lamb Is OAd per lb. Butter. —Official quotation- are: N.Z. £l3 6s to £l3 10s per cwt. (2s 4.Ad to 2s 42d per lb.): Australian, £l2 8s to £l2 10s per cwt. (2s 2Jd (o 2s 2fd per lb.); Argentine, £l2 4s to £l2 12s per cwt. (2s 2}d to 2s 3d per lb.); Danish, early this week, £l2 16s to £l3 14s per cwt. 2s 3Ad to 2s 5d per lb.); Dutch, £l2 14s to £l2 18.- per cwt. (2s 3d to 2s 3;?d per lb.): English, £.17 14s per cwt. (3s IJd per lb.): Irish, demand is moderate, new £ls 18s per cwt. (2s lOd per lb.), old, iron} stores, £ll 14s to £l2 per cwt. (2s Id to 2s lijd per lb.), Butter and cheese Import. Committee notify intention to sell stocks at following prices to first hand buyers from stores: N.Z. £l3 2s per cwt. (2s 4d per lb.); Australian, £l2 4s per cwt. (2s 2id per lb.); Argentine, £l2 per cwt. £2s Ifd per lb.). Cheese. —English, less demand, £7 10s to £7 13s 3d per cwt. (Is 4d to Is 4Ad per lb.); Canadian, small supply, £7 10s to £7 16s per cwt. (Is 4d to Is 4fd per lb.), white £8 2s per cwt. (Is 5d per lb.). Coloured: N.Z., demand i- good, £7 2s to £7 4s per cwt. (Is 3d to 1- 3fd per lb.); white, £8 to £8 2s per cwt. (approximately Is 5d per lb); coloured scarce. Remaining stocks N.Z. will be sold from season to first hand buyers. White, £6 12s per cwt. (Is 2fd per lb.); coloured, £7 10s per cwt. (Is 4d per lb). Wool.— Bradford market quiet, and at last quotations for tops, viz., 64’s (merino) 3s 4d, 56\s (super half-bred) 2s sd, 40’s (coarse cross-bred) prepared( Is 2ml per lb.
