(To the Editor.) Sir.—l would like to know if it is a fact that certain requirements for the water and drainage works which could be procured or made locally are being sent for out of the town, and if so by whose authority Seeing, Sir, that the local ratepayers have to fool the hill for" the loan works, and circulate their money locally to keep things going, the least those in authority can do is to see that all requirements that can he obtained locally is authorised. Some people are mean enough to send a £5 order out of the town to save a hob! Well, Sir, I hope the Council will kick against a skindint and uupatriotic policy.—l am., etc.,
