There will he a special entertainment this evening, the entire proceed- front whieh will be donated for the benefit of the queen eamlidwates. The star item is “Whitewashed Walls,” a hilariously funny burlesque on the comic opera politics of a South American republic, and William Desmond is seen ns (he delightful Irish adventurer, Larry Donovan, avlio turns the toy Slate completely inside out and extricates himself from all sorts of ticklish situations, solely by the exercise of bis Irish ingenuity and wit.
On Wednesday evening the greai Super-Nordisk production, “The Prince of Bhanita," will be shown. Till- is a story of Eastern Splendour, unfolding the romance ol an Indian Prince and a European girl. At Deauville, the fashionable seaside resort, the Maharajah of Bnglialpur, an Eastern Prince, meets and falls in love with Stella Langdon, the beautiful daughter of Colonel Langdon. “Love, happiness, and all you can desire await you in the East,” he .said. She returns his love, and in consequence refuses a propo-al of marriage from Keith Dryden, a young naval officer. Wo subsequently see her in India, whore she adopts the Eastern dress, and her Avonderful romance develop- in a startling manner. The meeting of East and West, Avhere custom differs, promised tragedy, but brought faith and understanding. The prices of admission Avill be 2s and Is, plus, tax.
There will he a special matinee on Thursday, when “From the Old World to the New, via Panama Canal,” filmed by special request of the British Government, will he shown. Children Avill lie admitted free, and adults at usual prices. There will he no pictures on Thursday night.
