HARBOUR BOARD DREDGE.
A SUCCESSFUL TRIAL
A trial run of the Harbour Board dredge was made on Tuesday, and proved highly satisfactory, every section answering to the call and running with absolute precision. A full flow, with heavy pressure, was delivered, and everything promises entire success. From the designing of the the building of same, the general lay-out and erection of machinery, reflects credit on all concerned. The covering in of machinery and the building of pontoons to carry the delivery pipes are the next steps, and it is hoped to have these completed within a fortnight or three weeks, and solid work in dredging commenced. No doubt the Board will arrange an official opening of this important work in the progress of our town.
