WATER AND DRAINAGE
Work i> proceeding- apace, although spectacular results must not he looked for immediately. Innumerable problems will arise from time to time, and it is very desirable that every care be taken in the initial stages of the work, in order that as few nnforseen difficulties as possible will be encountered during the progress of the work. We can quite sympathise with the large number of men (60) who are waiting to put their shovels and picks to work right away, but they can rest assured that each applicant will receive fair and equitable treatment. Work on the artesian bores has been handicapped on account of the spring tides, but the bore is now 190 feet down, and a steady flow is alreadv in evidence.
|he box culvert to carry away the soakage from the trendies has been laid, and as soon as a supply of timber comes to hand work on the deep trenches will be commenced right away.
